Baroque version of George Frideric Handel\’s ��Messiah�� will be performed by the Brigham Young University-Idaho Baroque Ensemble and Collegiate Singers on Friday and Saturday Dec. 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Barrus Concert Hall at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg.� Under the direction of Collegiate Singers director Randall Kempton the performance will feature authentic historic instruments guest artists and student soloists.� Robert Tueller director of the Baroque Ensemble said a similar Baroque-era concert was last performed at BYU-Idaho in 2011. The students will use Handel\’s original scoring.� ��We\’re excited to revisit it�� Tueller said. ��The students get a chance to discover the roots of their own instruments.��� He added ��There is a lighter character to the concert. It\’s not so heavy as a modern performance. It will sound more like it may have during Handel\’s time.��� Tickets for the concert are $6 for the general public and $3 for BYU-Idaho students.
